History
The Canyon Hills Foundation, formerly known as the Serra Foundation, is the major contributor to Canyon Hills High School and since 1988 the foundation has raised and donated more than $1,000,000 for Canyon Hills High School.
The Canyon Hills Foundation has provided funding for a wide variety of clubs, teams, projects, academic needs and improvements to Canyon Hills High School. A few examples are listed below.
Some of the projects completed by foundation
- Football stadium lights
- Security lights throughout the campus
- Dissection kits for science classes
- Food court, with shade umbrellas and concrete benches
- Equipment and supplies (including nets, balls, birdies, and rackets) for many athletic programs
- Counseling office renovation
- Drill press for engineering
- Original school marquee presentation
- 9th Grade Academy supplies
- Corner beautification project (co-funded by Serra High)
- Stethoscopes for biomedical students
- Band uniforms for marching season; vests for concert season
- Books for classrooms including novels, design and photography books, and subscriptions to newspapers for journalism students
